The Samsung Galaxy J8 2018 operates on Android v8.0 (Oreo) OS. The processors coupled with a 4GB RAM are seated upon Samsung Exynos 7 Octa 7885 chipset. Amazon India on Sunday announced that it is set to host the highly anticipated 'Amazon Great Indian Sale' in the country between January 21 and January 24. Under the forthcoming sale, Amazon Prime members will get 12 hours of early access starting 12pm (noon) IST on January 20. The company will offer discounts on usual suspects like mobile phones, laptops, cameras, computer peripherals, home appliances, fashion, daily essentials, and books among others. Deals will also be provided on Amazon products such as Kindle e-readers and Fire TV Stick. The online marketplace will offer 10 percent additional cashback apart from various discounts on HDFC Bank debit and credit card and EMI transactions. Also, Amazon Pay users will receive 10 percent balance back (up to Rs. 200) on each new purchase above Rs. 250 throughout the sale.

Amazon sale offers on mobile phones

Among other various offers and discounts, the new Amazon sale will provide up to 40 percent off on mobile phones and accessories. There will be more than 60 Amazon exclusive models with discounted prices as well as over 40 brands with 300 plus offers. India Launch Confirmed Honor 9 Lite : Will Be a Flipkart

Honor 9 Lite, the company's second quad-camera smartphone, will launch soon in India. The company has been teasing the smartphone for a while, but now it has confirmed that it will soon be available in a Flipkart exclusive sale. Honor 9 Lite comes with four cameras and a glass unibody design. The smartphone was launched in China in December 2017 and will now made its way into the Indian market. Pricing in China started at CNY 1,199 (roughly Rs. 11,700) for the 3GB RAM, 32GB storage variant, with the 4GB RAM, 32GB storage variant priced at CNY 1,499 (roughly Rs. 15,600) and the 4GB RAM, 64GB storage variant priced at CNY 1,799 (roughly Rs. 17,500). We can expect the Honor 9 Lite price in India to be roughly the same.

At the time of the launch, Honor had said that the Honor 9 Lite will be released in 14 more countries, including India, Russia, and the UK. Earlier, Honor had launched the Honor 7X in India and this month the flagship smartphone Honor View 10 also went on sale. Meanwhile, the Honor 9 Lite is expected to go on sale later this month. Flipkart has already listed the smartphone along with specifications on its website. There appears to be no change in specifications, though it is a possibility the 4GB RAM, 32GB storage variant wont be launched in India.

Honor 9 Lite specifications, price
The Honor 9 Lite is a dual-SIM (Nano) smartphone and runs EMUI 8.0, based on Android 8.0 Oreo. The smartphone features a 5.65-inch full-HD+ (1080x2160 pixels) IPS display with an 18:9 aspect ratio and pixel density of 428ppi. The 9 Lite is powered by a Huawei HiSilicon Kirin 659 octa-core SoC, where four cores are clocked at 2.36GHz, and the other four cores are clocked at 1.7GHz. The Honor 9 Lite comes in several variants of 3GB or 4GB of RAM.

There are dual camera setups on both the front and back of the Honor 9 Lite. The smartphone sports a 13-megapixel primary camera with a 2-megapixel secondary camera on both the sides. Meanwhile, the rear camera features PDAF autofocus and LED flash.

In terms of storage, the Honor 9 Lite comes in either 32GB or 64GB of inbuilt storage depending on the model. The inbuilt storage is expandable via microSD card (up to 256GB) in a hybrid dual-SIM configuration.

As for the connectivity options, the Honor 9 Lite include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, GPS/ A-GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, and Micro-USB with OTG support. Sensors on the device include accelerometer, ambient light sensor, magnetometer (digital compass), and proximity sensor.

The Honor 9 Lite is fuelled by a 3000mAh battery. The device promises to provide a talk time of up to 20 hours on 3G and a standby time of up to 24 days. Honor says the smartphone charges fully in about 2 hours 20 minutes. When it comes to dimensions, the Honor 9 Lite measures 151x71.9x7.6mm and weighs 149 grams.

OnePlus 5T Lava Red Edition Launched in India: Full Specifications With Release Date

OnePlus on Thursday announced the launch of the OnePlus 5T Lava Red in India. The smartphone was originally launched in China in November last year. The Lava Red variant comes in only an 8GB RAM, 128GB storage configuration. It will sit alongside two other OnePlus 5T variants, Midnight Black and Star Wars edition. Registrations to be notified for the first sale of the OnePlus 5T Lava Red edition have already begun on Thursday, January 11, and the phone will go on sale on Amazon.instarting at 12pm IST, January 20 as well as on the OnePlus Store. The company is calling it an open sale. The phone is priced at Rs. 37,999 - the same price as the regular 8GB RAM variant of the smartphone.

As we mentioned, the OnePlus 5T Lava Red edition has been launched in India. Apart from a new colour scheme, the new edition retains the same features and specifications as the original Midnight Black variant launched in November 2017. For the Lava Red variant, OnePlus has used two anodic oxidation processes, double blasting and AF coating, to maintain the texture. It also gets a redesigned wallpaper, unique to this variant.

The OnePlus 5T sports a 6.01-inch full-HD + (1080x2160 pixels) Full Optic AMOLED display with an aspect ratio of 18.5:9. The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC, coupled with 6/ 8GB RAM and up to 128GB inbuilt storage.

In the camera department, it has a dual camera setup on the rear that houses a 16-megapixel sensor and a 20-megapixel sensor. On the front is another 16-megapixel sensor. Under the hood is a 3300mAh non-removable battery. It has the new Face Unlock device unlocking technology and Dash Charge.

Jio New Year Offer: 1GB Data Per Day Plans to Get Price Cuts

Reliance Jio will cut the prices of its plans with 1GB data per day by up to Rs. 60 as part of a new Happy New Year 2018 offer. This will bring down the base price of Jio plans with 1GB data per day to Rs. 149, down from the current Rs. 199. Interestingly, this move will nullify the tariff revision implemented by the operator in October. Apart from this price cut, Jio will also launch a host of plans with 1.5GB data per day as part of the exercise. These changes will come into effect on Tuesday, January 9 and the first of many such announcements to come.

Starting Tuesday, the Rs. 199, Rs. 399, Rs. 459 and Rs. 499 Jio plans will cost Rs. 149, Rs. 349, Rs. 399 and Rs. 449, respectively. Details of the plans, such as the data allocation, calling, and SMS benefits as well as access to free apps, will remain the same as before.

How To Link Aadhaar Card With Mobile Number, It is Mandatory for All Mobile User

As the government continues its drive to re-verify the SIM cards using Aadhaar number, the process became a little easier on Tuesday. Now telecom subscribers can call a single number to verify all their mobile numbers with Aadhaar, irrespective of network. This brings in a sigh of relief for consumers across the country, who only had the option to visit offline stores run by their operators to link the two till now. Now, they can use the IVR service from their homes instead, cutting out the hassle involved in going to physical outlets.

How to link Aadhaar with mobile phone number

If you want to re-verify your phone number by linking it to Aadhaar, the process is rather simple. You just need to keep your Aadhaar number at hand. Whether you are on Airtel, Idea, Jio, and Vodafone or any other operator, you simply need to call the toll-free number 14546 from the phone number. Follow these steps, as directed by the IVR, to complete the re-verification process.

1. When you call 14546, you will be asked to select whether you are an Indian national or an NRI by selecting the respective option
2. Next, you will have to give consent to link Aadhaar with your phone number by pressing 1
3. After that, you need to provide your Aadhaar number and press 1 to confirm
4. This step generates the OTP, which you will receive on your mobile phone
5. Now, you need to enter your phone number
6. Here, you are asked to give consent to your operator to pick your name, photo and date of birth from UIDAI data base
7. The IVR now mentions the last four digits of your number to confirm that you have keyed in the right number
8. If the number is correct, you can enter the OTP you received on SMS
9. You must press 1 to complete the Aadhaar-mobile number re-verification process
10. If you hold another phone number, you can link that too by pressing 2 and following the steps provided by the IVR system. Keep your other mobile phone handy as you will receive the OTP on this number.

The OTP you receive for Aadhaar-mobile phone re-verification is valid for 30 minutes, so you can use it even there is some network glitch and the call terminates prematurely. The IVR system says the last date to link the two is February 6. Subscribers who are on corporate plans do not need to need to undergo the re-verification process.

So far, Airtel, Idea, and Vodafone have activated the service. Upon calling Jio, the IVR tried to direct us to a customer care executive, but both times the call was terminated without reaching an executive. 

In late November, telecom operators had also been directed to set up a website so that subscribers can link Aadhaar and mobile number online. However, there is no such website so far. Going by the image in a tweet by the Digital India Twitter account, it seems users will be able to link the two using the mAadhaar app, which is available only for Android so far, as well in some time.
